The results demonstrate that recognition, when done the right way, motivates employees to improve their performance.  This leads to several benefits including increased productivity, attentive customer service, and improved morale to name a few: the bottom line, companies are more profitable.

Employees want sincere appreciation for their work.  Verbal recognition is powerful...and free!   It is the most important aspect of recognition because it has the potential to reach the largest number of people, with the greatest personal impact, at the lowest cost.

In exit interviews, one of the most common reasons employees state that  they are quitting their jobs is due to the lack of recognition for their work.  Considering the high price of turnover (up to 50% of an employee's salary to replace him/her) the ROI in recognition training for managers is quickly realized.

The best investment an organization can make is in its people.
